Oshkosh is situated at the southwest end of Lake Winnebago, with history in manufacturing (notably the children’s‐wear brand OshKosh B’Gosh), aviation (EAA AirVenture), and education (University of Wisconsin‐Oshkosh). The city’s housing mix includes older downtown homes, mid-century ranches, newer suburban developments, and some rural acreage just beyond the city limits. The feel is more suburban than dense urban, with a comfortable small-city size but with all core amenities present. Regarding pricing: while I did not find a precise median for Oshkosh within the sources I captured, articles say its median list price was around $374,000 (in one recent ranking) though that may reflect broader metro or newer homes.  Given this, existing homes may range from $250,000-$350,000 in many cases, and new builds perhaps $300,000-$450,000+ depending on lot and quality. The city offers very good value and is increasingly favored by buyers seeking affordability.
